Мод заменяет МиГ-31, на его современную модификацию МиГ-31М/БМ, оснащенную дополнительно ракетами Р-77 (до 4) и Р-73 (до 4), противорадиолокационными ракетами Х-31П, Х-25МП или Х-25МПУ (до 4 единиц), противокорабельными УР X-31 А (до 4) и Х-58У (до 4), ракетами класса воздух-поверхность Х-29Т (до 4), до 6 КАБ-500 с телевизионным наведением. Максимальная масса боевой нагрузки составляет 9000 кг.
