For the last few months I have been working on a BVR guide for both my squadron and for the general DCS community. It is not specifically suited to any particular aircraft, nor does it contain threat-specific info (those will come in later manuals). It is designed to be a good BVR fundamentals and concepts resource for new pilots getting into DCS, and for even experienced pilots that want to sharpen their skills. It currently focuses on single ship employment, but sometime in the not-too-far future I intend to add information on multi-ship targeting and tactics, I have tried to use RL terminology/concepts when appropriate, but there are a few concepts/terms in here that I essentially made up for a lack of better description. It uses information from the F-16C Flight Manual, but it has primarily been designed to work cohesively with the Eagle Dynamics F-16C Guide, and video tutorials by Matt Wagner. The airborne refuelling, and TGP sections are based on RedKite's comprehensive tutorials. (Both day/night versions total 7 pages, including the cover, in V.03, sample screenshots are of the cover, page 2, and page 6).

Here is a simple XCF file that you can edit with the free graphics program called GIMP,  it has a layer with a grid to align stuff, and a layer with an image of the MFD to see how it will look.

I made a fillable PDF form for the T.16000M so you can quickly and easily try out different mappings and make a reference document.

So here's my F/A-18C profile. It uses rudders and trackIR so those functions aren't bound on the joystick but can easily be added.

The scroll wheel for radar elevation works by having a dead zone set, leave the wheel relatively centered to stop it moving and 100% up or down to move radar elevation up or down. It's also bound on modifier spots of speedbrake button but not shown on the diagram.

The dispenser bypass switch has to be held down to put it in bypass mode, so for example to use flares you have to hold the hat left while flicking it forward to flare.

Updated to work with the new beta, also added throttle lift binds but are not on picture.

This is my config for T.16000M in combination with TRACK IR and pedals, let me know if you need help configuring it for use without.

The image is a little rough but it should be readable.

This is based on Nunupts user profiles which I use in most other modules. I also took some inspiration from NOiDs Warthog profile and Chuck's Harrier guide, so shout out to all the above!

Any feedback on improving it or if I left something out let me know!

V2: I added water mode and FLAPS controls to improve VSTOL, removed redundant nozzle up and down because I consider the knob a far superior way to control the nozzle (go team venture!)

V3: Swapped sensor select down: hud scene reject/tgp with AG target undesignate/NWS/FOV toggle, it makes more sense having lock and unlock on the same key but with modifier. Also added reverse ext lights with modifier. Added Nozzle STO stop to slider on joystick
