On Screen Message Size in VR

This is another one I've been using which I haven't shared yet.  Some may find it useful.

By default, on screen text is too large for me in VR.  Often times I have to turn my head to read each line and overlays on my cockpit if the message is long.  This mod reduces the font.  Also  makes comm menu to be smaller.

They look too small in the comparison images but they look right in VR.

ADJUSTMENTS:
Onscreen message font sizes are adjusted by line 148, 255, 340, 462 of gameMessages.dlg.  Default font size is 20.
Comm menu fonts are adjusted by line 49 of CommandMenu.lua

NOTES:
Passes IC
Even with this mod installed, it doesn't change the font size in 2D.  This only affects VR.

INSTALL:
Files go into main DCS install path.  Mod Manager recommended.

NVG Adjustment

10-22-2023:  Updated for DCS 2.9

This is based off of Kegety's mod.  I made sharper NVG version for his mod a while back and this adds vertical position, size, and noise amount adjustment.

ADJUSTMENTS:
All 4 values (Blur amount, Position, Size, and Noise amount) are fully adjustable.  Just search for "Taz" in the two files.

NOTES:
Does not pass IC as of DCS 2.8.5 on 5/18/23
Works in 2D and VR

INSTALL:
Recommend using Mod Manager or extract to DCS main install directory.

Clear Canopy Glass

Makes canopy glass clear.  Should apply to all modules but only tested on A10C-II, Hornet, A4E-C, Black Shark 3, and Viper.

ADJUSTMENTS:
Last value of line 101 adjusts opacity.  Default is 1 and 0 will be completely clear.  Mod is preset to 0.2.
Shadow on the glass is removed by default for better frame rate.  If you want to restore the shadow, remove the comments (//) at beginning of line 88 and 89.

NOTES:
This mod may also affect MFD and HUD glass if the module uses same material.
Does not pass IC as of DCS 2.8.5 on 5/18/23

Better Kneeboard Map Overlay

Update 1-14-23
1.  ED changed the blending mode so the waypoints got darker too. Fixed.

The default map overlay was useless to me because of its format.

1.  Made waypoint marker and names smaller.
2.  Centered the waypoint numbers in the circles.
3.  Darkened the background map.

Adjustments

1.  Waypoint color can be changed by line 6 in definitions.lua.
2.  Darkness of background map can be adjusted by line 78 in map_page.lua

No Pause Mission Briefing v5

In single player, it always annoyed me that I can't read the briefing during ingress without pausing.

With this mod, game will not pause when you open menu window (ESC key)

You always have the option to manually pause the game.

IC Safe.

Install with Mod Manager or overwrite the corresponding file in main DCS install path.

Caucasus Runway Texture

I was looking for a mod for this as I found myself instinctively avoiding these grooves running down the runway.  And few mods that were made seemed to be outdated.  As always, I made these for myself and perhaps some others might find them useful.

These textures are from Syria runway textures.  I simply resized and changed repeats to match that of Caucasus.  So credit to Ugra for texture source.

INSTALL:  Extract to main DCS install path or use mod manager.  Would likely cause conflict with other terrain mods that modifies runway textures.  Either merge or install this mod last.

FAQ:
--Is it IC Safe?:  No texture mod is IC safe unless the server turns off "Require Pure Texture"
--Is there performance hit?:  No, textures are same size as default.

This is 11 mission F-15C campaign by Eagle Dynamics which was patched by MadDog-IC.  Now converted for F-16C Viper.

Includes many bug fixes and most of the voices have been redone for variety.

Notes:
1.  This campaign is originally designed for F-15C which have larger payload and fuel capacity.  Conserve fuel and missiles.  You will have enough fuel in all missions but just don't jettison all tanks at first encounter or go full throttle all the time.
2.  F-15C in DCS seems to have quicker cold start procedure so I recommend doing "STOR HDG" alignment instead of "NORM" alignment.  Some missions require you to be on time.
3.  Currently, AIM-120 seem highly susceptible to jammers and chaff.  All enemy jammers are disabled.  They will still use chaff.

INSTALL:  Extract to wherever you put your custom campaign.  Typically "C:\Users\*UserName*\Saved Games\DCS\Missions\Campaigns\en\"

Darker cockpit glass with yellow tint removed to improve HUD and HMCS visibility.
Fake cockpit reflections are also removed.
If you want the reflections, you need to revise the description.lua file and delete the lines with "glass_Reflect".

This is packaged into cockpit mod so it is IC safe.

The idea is not new.  But Opacity in Labels.lua is broken and many don't realize there is workaround.
This Labels file is adjusted to be subtle enhancement to visibility.

Install:  Extract to DCS Main install path or use mod manager.  Must choose Dots only labels in game.

I have included comments in the file for further adjustment per your preference.  Search for Taz1004.

Dot size will depend on your screen resolution and can be adjusted with font size in line 60
Recommend font size of 3 or 4 for VR.  8 for 4K monitor.

This mod will keep velocity vector on your HUD at above 50 kmh. It will also be kept while Shkval, Rockets, and Cannon are selected.
If the line touches the triangle at the heading tape at the top, you're flying straight.

Installation:

Simply extract to DCS main install directory. Make sure to back up original or use OvGME. Or other Mod managers.
