Operation Inherent Resolve | Battle of Raqqa is a short campaign with 5 missions for the A-10C II, created by Gengar88. It loosesly follows the 74th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron and their involvement in the Battle of Raqqa from 2015-2017. During this time, US-backed rebel groups fought to gain territory from the Islamic State terrorist organization.
The first mission is a prologue to the events in Raqqa, and takes place in 2015 Syria. It is modeled off the real life attempted prison break in Uqayrishah, a town south of Raqqa.
The next 4 missions take place in and around Raqqa during 2017, where you will provide CAS support for 2 different JTAC controllers. Each mission is modeled after real events that occured in the city, and real districts within the city. Realistically the A-10's would air refuel and take off from faraway airbases, however that introduces far too much down-time. Each mission starts as you enter the Area of Operations, and ends when your JTAC controller tells you to return to base.
There are no radio commands needed for this campaign, just read the messages as they come in and act on them. Only mission 2, Shaykh-Jimal is time based. Everything else you may take your sweet time on. There are no random events, every mission is the same everytime.
