This livery accurately depicts the Mustang NZ2423 that has been recently restored in New Zealand by the Biggin Hill Historic Aircraft Centre at RNZAF Base Ohakea.
Version 1.01: 513 on Starboard Side Rudder replaced by 511. 16JUL23.
The aircraft itself is US S/N AAF 45-11513 that was one of 29 P-51 that went into RNZAF service.
Following RNZAF service John Smith purchased the aircraft ultimately saving it from the scrap heap.
With his passing Brendon Deere and acquired the aircraft and with his fantastic team went about meticulously restoring the aircraft to her former glory.
This livery features many custom decals, pilot patches, roughmets, as well as template fixes to pay homage to all those involved in the restoration and John Smith.
