This is a fictional mission I created for WWII enthusiasts set in March of 1944 on the Normandy 2.0 map, it is centered on a P-51D squadron operating out of south England against the Luftwaffe's bombing of English port cities.

In this mission the player's flight and an RAF escort is tasked with intercepting a group of aircraft believed to be German bombers headed for Dover.

This mission requires the Normandy 2.0 map and the WWII Assets Pack.

This is my first time doing a WWII mission and I try to make all of my missions enjoyable to the player regardless of era so any and all feedback is appreciated.

March 6, 1944 - 0700 hours.

Having failed to establish air superiority over Britain, the Luftwaffe has shifted the focus of its bombing campaign toward crippling British ports.

Early warning radar systems have picked up what they believe to be a flight of German bombers inbound from France, your flight is to fly a patrol of the area around Dover to the north east and try to identify the flight.  If it is in fact a German bomber group, you are to intercept it and shoot it down.

You are to depart, climb to 20,000 and follow the flight plan outlined below.  Based on our best intelligence, we think that the bomber flight will be crossing the channel between 0730 and 0740 so you may need to loiter near Dover or over the channel depending on your arrival time.  Caution should be exercised if you cross the channel as the French coastline is heavily defended by German AAA.

A flight of RAF P-47s is going to takeoff behind you and accompany you on your patrol.  It cannot be stressed enough how imperative it is that both the port and the landing ships at dock remain unharmed, if a strike is successful, it will potentially set back allied operations by weeks if not longer.

**Edited to version 1.1**
- Allied flight formations changed from "echelon" to "finger four".
- RAF P-47 flight plan edited so that the altitude coincides with that of the Mustangs.
- Date edited to 1944 when P-51Ds and RAF P-47D "bubbletops" would have been historically accurate.
