A quick port from my UH-1H and Mi-24P missions: "Operation Helping Hand" and "Operation Helping Hind"

(No sling loading with the Apache obviously, but it's compensated by firepower!)

Allied forces are under heavy attack. They need assistance.

You'll start at FARP TKAYA, approximately 6nm NE from the target area. Your task is to support our troops in Chuburhindzhi village (CAMP CHARLIE), just into Abkhazia territory. Reinforcement tanks are en route, but still about 60 minutes out. The mission objective, is to suppress all attacking enemy ground forces long enough, for these reinforcements to arrive.

- Mission difficulty can be considered medium to moderate
- Mission duration is ±45-70mins (depending choices/skill level)
- No mods required
- Excellent for training your Apache basic manoeuvres and attack skills
- Mission created with intend of high level action, atmosphere and replay-ability
- Comms will be done semi-auto and with radio F10
- Short distances

0545 LOCAL TIME - 31st Juli 1978 - OPERATION HELPING HIND

Allied forces at camp CHARLIE are under heavy attack. They need assistance.

They are defending Chuburhindzhi village, which is basically the last line of defense for Enguri bridge.
- Take Off from FARP Tkaya
- Follow Enguri river downsteam (South-West) until you fly over Enguri bridge
- Camp CHARLIE is about 2nm West from Enguri bridge

If you were able to sling load cargo, you could.............

In this mission you can choose to bring supplies and reinforcements to the front.
Check your kneeboard for pickup and drop zone details.

- M113 fuel (slingload) --> Drop zone at CAMP CHARLIE (red smoke)
- M60 MBT oil (slingload) --> Drop zone  at CAMP CHARLIE (red smoke)
- EWR parts (slingload) --> Drop zone  at CAMP DELTA (red smoke)
- Anti tank reinforcement team 1 --> Drop zone marked with green smoke
- Mortar team reinforcement team 2 --> Drop zone marked with orange smoke

Until the sun rises over the mountain tops, it might be wise to use your search light at the pickup and drop zones. It will also help to familiarize yourself with the target area and drop zones by checking the briefing photos.

................ But in the Apache you can't ;) so you'll just have to use brute force!

Mission objective is to defend our allies at Camp CHARLIE and suppress all opposing forces, until our reinforcement M60 MBT's arrive.

Intel reports the following threats:
Multiple enemy infantry units
Multiple enemy armored vehicles (BDRM, BMD, BMP and possible T55)
Possibility of mobile AAA units
Possibility of enemy air attacks

Mission designer notes:
- At mission start, you'll get a short ingame briefing (just because I wanted to see if it's possible :P). Press spacebar at mission start, to skip this briefing.
- You have a cold and dark & hot Apache at your disposal
- Switching between clients won't break triggers and can be done as much as you like
- You can change loadouts as desired
- Although obviously not realistic, infantry teams can actually be inserted if desired, by simply landing at the pickup and drop zones
- Until some of the initial Apache bugs are squashed (such as the IHADSS alignment issue in VR), I suggest to make use of the hot start client
- The EWR activation (CAP assistance) will be triggered once a certain enemy attack is repelled (as a solution for not being able to sling load the EWR parts)
- If desired, or if you need assistance, after a few minutes you can call in additional CAS
