This livery is a recreation of the Spitfire Mk.IX MK732 in use by the SKLHV for display and memorial purposes.
MK732 was built at Castle Bromwich in early 1944 and was initially delivered to the RNZAF and afterwards transferred to the RNAF where it was used in combat until the end of the war. Post-war after it's use as a decoy tow plane it traded hands several times until ending up in the hands of the SKLHV in 1998. It has seen several modifications to both it's airframe (such as the wings being clipped and eventually the elliptical being re-attached) and it's paint scheme (several small decals were added and removed for certain occasions.)
This specific airframe was also the self proclaimed of Dutch Prince Consort Bernhard (who flew Spitfires during WW2) and who personally visited the MK732 during it's restoration process. MK732 then performed the "Missing Man" maneuvre at Prince Bernhard's funeral in 2004.
