Established in 1951 with the inception of the Royal Nordlands Air Force, the 113 "Tijgers" Squadron originated in the Army Aviation Brigade, flying Spitfires during the Belkan incursions. With the arrival of F-16s in 1980. Two years later the 113 Tijgers swiftly transitioned from NF-5s in 1982. In 1995, it was the squadron's first deployment during the Belkan War. In 2006, the squadron was deployed again to assist the IUN during the Continental War. Their last deployment was in 2019 when the squadron contributed to the Lighthouse War.
The 113 Tijgers are based in Oost-Sousburg in the province of Zeeveld. The squadron is also assigned QRA duties. During peacetime, the squadron spends a lot of time training and participating in international exercises. The Tijgers had many notable pilots including: Sven “Zaag” van Vugt, Gijs “Grizzly” de Beer, Rutger “Scammer” de Man and many more.
