Caucasus Region - 1999
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Georgia, Abkhazia and South-Ossetia are fighting a bloody war over disputed territories for almost a decade now.
The Russians - waging a proxy war - are supplying the Abkahzians and South Ossetians with arms and manpower, while Georgia is asking the help of NATO to solve the situation.
A small contingent of western air power is stationed in country and on the Black Sea to prevent the escalation any further.
MISSION: OCA STRIKE
The Russians have moved a squadron of Su-25s and few attack helicopters to the Gudauta airbase, from where they have already attacked the Georgian forces around Zugdidi.
They have stated, that the planes and helicoipters are "not theirs", but part of the Abkhazian air force. Which means we are free to hit them.
Your targets are the Mi-24s on the southern part of the apron, while your wingman, Chevy 12 will hit the attack jets on the northern side.
Even though the Americans lent us a few LANTIRN pods, the LGBs are still not arrived, so you are only be carrying two Mk84s.
- Your callsign is Chevy 1 (2 x CF-18)
- Common frequency: 305.000 MHz (Comm1 Ch1)
- Your task is to destroy the Mi-24s and Su-25s at Gudauta
- QRF is available (2xM2000C) on F10 menu (Ford 5)
- AWACS is at 264.000 MHz (Overlord) (Comm2 Ch2)
- Weasel 1 (2 x F16C) will provide SEAD support over the target area
- Ninja 3 (2 x F16C) from the 55th Fighter Wing are flying CAP in the AO
- After completing the mission land at Kutaisi AB (ATC: 263.000 MHz, Comm2 Ch1)
- Divert: Kobuleti
- Expected enemy forces: MiG-21s, Su-27s and short range SAMs around the target area.
- The Cruiser Moskva and its escorts are sailing towards Abkhazia along the coast. Make sure you stay away from them.
