In the mid 1970s, when the F-8 Crusader was on its way out, the Osean Federation Marine Corps purchased F-16s to replace it in some shore-based squadrons while the F/A-18 was in development for carrier use. Despite being in existence at the time of the 1982 Kijera Strait Crisis, the Marine Vipers wouldn't see their first combat until 1995 during the Belkan Civil War. VMF-191 was deployed in October of 1995 and flew until the end of the war. They eventually transferred to the F-35D Lightning II as VMFA-191
This Viper, BuNo. 167202, was flown by Capt. Neil "Impulse" McKay during the Silver Rooks' second tour in Belka. Although used primarily for close air support for OFMC ground assets, the F-16C is a capable dogfighter and most of the squadron's Vipers ended the war with at least one kill on record, at the point this skin was made to represent, McKay and 167202 were up to 3 kills and 1 assist, all against North Belkan aircraft
