Pack contains 3 liveries of VFA-136 from their last combat deployment with the Legacy Hornet in 2007 (July through December). During this time, the squadron was deployed aboard the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) with Carrier Air Wing 1 (CVW-1/AB). Combat operations were conducted in support of OIF and OEF over Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2008, the Knighthawks transitioned to the Lot 30 Super Hornet, and were the first squadron to perform initial carrier certification aboard the USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77) in 2009.

This skin pack includes a line bird and CAG bird for VFA-136 ca. 2006-7.  While the skins use the dynamic MODEXes (side numbers), the MODEXes for these skins were historically in the 300 series (300 for CAG).  Each skin has a "normal" version and a weathered version.  Weathered skins have a bleached effect as if the aircraft were heavily exposed to the sun for months on end.  Normal skins include pilots with green flightsuits, while weathered skins include pilots with desert flightsuits.  Note: this skin pack is distributed as an EXE installer.

IMPORTANT: For compact installations, do not delete Saved Games\DCS, even if you exclusively use Saved Games\DCS.OpenBeta!

VFA-136 Knighthawks

This is a GunVal Saber with 20mm cannons. 2 mods, 1 uses the MG151/20s and the other uses the M39 cannons.

the VF-12 Knights have a long history within the Osean Maritime Defense Forces, starting with the units inception flying the TBM Avenger Torpedo Bomber as VT-12, before redesignating as Fighter Squadron 12 when they recieved the F-9 Cougar for conflicts in Southern Verusea. It wasn't long before the Knights found themselves as the first of the Last Gunfighters, operating the F-8 Crusader in successful raids against Yuktobanian and Valkan targets. A well established service history made the squadron one of the first to receive the brand-new F-14 Tomcat in the summer of 1972.

VF-12 along with their sister squadron VF-83 "Warhawks" would go on to serve during the 1977 Adama Uprising, the Knights would earn one Air to air victory in the conflict,  shooting down a rebel F-14, and help support pro-Osean forces in the tense thirteen week standoff.

Since then, the Knights have forged a legacy of excellence and bravery with their Tomcats as their noble steeds.
