This is an updated livery (2.0) of the John McCain A-4E Skyhawk (149959) he was flying when he was shot down over Vietnam in 1967. New livery icludes better details and weathering. The livery itself is from the U.S. Navy attack squadron VA-163 Saints. Only difference from the original is the "LCDR JOHN McCAIN" name tag added under the cockpit to denote his final rank in the Navy. RIP John and fly on.

There is also a profile for the TrackIr 5 and a Reshade setting for a slightly more realistic look.

This is a summary of the A-4E Normal (i.e. non-combat) Procedures, adapted for the Community Mod A-4E Skyhawk (version 2.0 Beta). I intend to do a follow-up with the Combat Procedures, soon.

Fly down the valley to Waypoint 1.  Stay low to avoid alerting the AAA at the airfield.

Pop up and over the ridge.  

Drop you snakeyes on the runway to take it out of action for enemy fighters.

Egress to the South to get your score.

Fly to the Flak Factory.  You'll have to approach above the clouds. Drop through the overcast to hit your target and egress on the deck to keep the SAMs at Bay

Lead a two ship element to bomb the industrial complexr.

You will start above the cloud layer.  The bottom of the clouds is expected to be around 8000'

Proceed to the IP. Descend through the clouds and find the target.

Attack the large workshop and the workshop and warehouse complex

Continue your dive as you leave the target area. Egress below 1500' MSL.  

You will be scored on how well you fly your route, on avoiding damage, and how much damage you cause to your assigned target.

Fly an Iron Hand mission to take out a pesky SAM site guarding Haiphong Harbour.  

Fly low and fast. Pop up and aim your Shrikes at the SAM radar.  Once it is down you can follow up with your zuni rockets to take out the launchers themselves.

A scoring system is included.  Re-fly it and try to improve your score.

A fairly straightforward mission.  Easy to fly, hard to master.  Taking out the SAM site should not be a challenge if you fly the planned route.  But you'll have to do it using the Navigational aids the A-4 gives you.  Once you have the radar down the real fun begins.  There is a lot of low level AAA about. How many launchers can you get with your 8 rockets and live to tell the tale?

A low level, low light attack against a vulnerable convoy stopped in the woods at dusk.  Can you inflict maximum destruction?

The mission is short and meant to be flown multiple times. There is a scoring system so you can try to improve your score.

Having blown the bridges earlier today (in Haiphong Harbour - Episode 2) - you now have a chance to catch a convoy that is stuck at the bridge site.  Find the convoy in the failing light, surprise them by flying out of the setting sun and inflict maximum destruction with your load of CBU's.
