This is my first mission, and it is freely inspired by the book Red Storm Rising. The mission is very long, and it is necessary to economize fuel during the flight; it is essential to be able to complete in-flight refueling. Some may argue that the mission is excessively long, but this is intentional; I wanted to recreate the reality in which long, uneventful flights are required to reach the operational area, followed by brief combat engagements and a long return flight to the aircraft carrier.

trouble in the quiet island, Rota, known as the Friendly Island has turned not so friendly, communist rebels have snuck into the island and taken over the island though Force, due to certain political happenings in America it cannot intervene, but Sanctuary Security can, backed by several rich arms dealers and with the backing of several shadowy figures with the goal of enforcing a certain global order, and keeping their private investments safe, Sanctuary Security has been set up as a training and private security firm, but it looks like we are heading into combat, Rota International has been secured, now our mission is to secure the island and remove the communist guerrilla's

now updated with "performance ver 2" which should be treated as the main version of the mission"

This mission is a companion to the previously-published Thuyen Lua Torpedo Boat Base strike (CV31-20):

This mission is flown from the other carrier in the combined strike--the USS Forrestal (CV-59), attacking the target from the opposite direction.

Your objective is similar to the original mission: to take a functional, modern torpedo boat base and leave it burning and significantly less functional. Your assigned target: the cargo-handling facility on the northern side of the base.

You and your wingman are on the catapults. Finish preparations and launch as soon as you're ready. Join up with the strike group, hit your target and get back here. We're probably going to be doing a lot more of this.

See you back at the boat.

What will come to be known as the Vietnam War has not yet begun. However, in recent weeks, harassment by hostile torpedo boats of our intelligence-gathering ships in international waters has escalated amid increasing tensions between Washington and Hanoi. The teletype minutes ago spat out the following instruction direct from CINCPAC:

JCS HAVE DIRECTED CINCPAC TO CONDUCT ONE0TIME MAXIMUM EFFORT CVA AIR STRIKES AGAINST SWATOW PATROL CRAFT AND PT BOATS AT BASES IN NVN AND A SUPPORTING POL FACILITY. ACTION REQ NLT BY 0700 LOCAL 5 AUG.

USS Hancock (CV-14) and USS Forrestal (CV-59) will now drop everything they were previously doing in order to get combined operations under way. Assigned target: the Thuyen Lua torpedo boat base.

You and your wingman are on the bow cats. Finish preparations and launch as soon as you're ready. Hit your target and get back here. We're probably going to be doing a lot more of this.

The Mariana Islands have been severely affected by Typhoon Kassandra. The United States government has deployed the armed forces to provide assistance to the islands' population.

In this campaign, we will take on the role of a C-130 pilot, performing various missions during the humanitarian relief operation in the region.
