Pilot an Su-25A in the year 198X, conducting a desperate attack against two HAWK batteries in coordination with the Soviet 7th Guard Tank Division. This is a challenging mission as you go up against NATO air defences to open the skies for Soviet air power. This mission has over 20 triggers and over 300 units giving you a little slice of the Cold War Gone Hot.
BRIEFING / SITUATION
The Soviet 7th Guard Tank Division is attempting to making a large scale crossing along a 20km front between Hannover and Hildesheim. This crossing is expected to be heavily contested, involving a cross river amphibious assault with bridging equipment.
As part of the preparatory fire plan, tactical aviation has insisted on the removal of the two closest HAWK batteries in order to fully support the crossing and ensure local air superiority.
A last minute plan has been drawn up with coordination between the divisional artillery and tactical aviation. Army reconnaissance forces have identified two enemy front line air defence batteries in close proximity to each other. The hope is that the simultaneous destruction of these two batteries will open a hole in the air defence umbrella to allow a low level striker to pierce deep into enemy airspace and knock out the HAWK batteries.
Army BM-27 Uragan rocket launchers have been tasked with firing on the identified air defence systems at the same that tactical aviation attempts to strike the HAWK batteries.

FLIGHT PLAN / FIRE PLAN
1. Callsign 730 to take off from Braunschweig airbase
2. Follow Waypoint 1 & 2 along the canal
3. Army BM-27s are schedule to open fire as you reach waypoint 2
4. Ingress at low altitude to Waypoint 3 (HAWK North)
5. Strike HAWK North and HAWK South
6. RTB at Braunschweig airbase
FLIGHT PLAN / FIRE PLAN
As per divisional fire plan, the identified Roland and Rapier batteries should be hit and destroyed by Army BM–27 fire just as 730 crosses the line of contact.
The timing is critical as too much of a gap may allow new air defences to be moved into position, or allow NATO fighters to fill the gap.
There is no direct communications between Army artillery and Tactical Aviation GCI or the pilots. You’ll have to trust the Army can stick to their schedule.
