Skins for the P-47N Snortin' Bull, flown by James A. Mullins in the European Theater 1944-1945
These skins show the markings on the second of three different aircraft he flew in England and Europe. Included in the download are some photos of the actual aircraft and a narrative of Col. Mullins' WWII experience.
My father, James A. Mullins, flew the Snortin' Bull during WWII in the 507th Fighter Squadron of the 404th Fighter Group. Before the invasion of France on June 6, 1944, the 404th FG flew missions across the English Channel from a base in Winkton, England. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAF_Winkton
After the invasion, the 404th moved to an airbase in Normandy just 3 miles from the line separating advancing allied troops and the defending Germans. The group moved again to St. Trond, Belgium in October of 1944. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sint-Truiden_/_Brustem_Airfield
He transferred home in April 1945 after flying 102 combat missions.
