SITUATION:
- Hostile units:
- HVT: SA-11 Buk (Fire Dome TEL) awaiting shipment, Port of Beirut. Heavily guarded.
- AAA: Two ZU-23 units; one North, one East of port.
- Armor: Two BTRs patrolling port grounds.
- Technicals: Two armed pickups; one in main port area, one West.
- MANPADS: One SA-18 Igla operator in main port area.
- Infantry: Multiple AK elements within port and vicinity.
- Targets of Opportunity: Unarmed trucks within port.
- Your unit:
- OH-58D Kiowa Warrior operating from Beirut Rafic Hariri Airport (9km South).
- Warnings:
- Only ZU-23 positions confirmed; all others estimated.
OBJECTIVES:
- Primary:
- Destroy SAM SA-11 Buk component (60/100)
- Secondary:
- Destroy both AAA ZU-23 emplacements (10/100)
- Destroy both patrolling BTRs (10/100)
- Destroy both armed pickups (10/100)
- Kill infantry with Igla MANPAD (10/100)
REMARKS:
- This is a quick-action style mission; no need to fly for 20 minutes just to find the enemy! Flying low pays off!
- All units are hidden on the F10 map. This increases replayability, as all units except for the AAA emplacements are randomized and will never be in the same position twice.
- Zones for units placement were marked manually so unless map changes or DCS messes something up the units should appear properly on the ground.
- Civilian traffic is disabled (it has a bug on Syria map - some vehicles move at ridiculous speeds).
- Mission is implemented with MOOSE framework.
- This is my first published DCS mission :) Suggestions are welcome and let me know if you would like to play in online (I'm usually under milo85 or M1985 in games)!
