CH-47F livery inspired by an order made by the United States DoD to procure chinooks to the Afghan National Air Force that was never fulfilled, due to the collapse of the Afghan government in 2021.
In late 2019 the US military announced that it would provide CH-47F Chinooks to the Afghan National Air Force (AAF), to replace their aging Mi-17 transport helicopters and suppliment the UH-60 blackhawks the were delivered to the AAF in 2017. Deliveries of CH-47s to the Afghans were originally projected to start in 2023, but all orders were cancelled when the government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan was overthrown by the Taliban in August of 2021.
