Backstory
Operation Storm

Base Creil, Normandy, 03/16/1944
It had been very quiet in Normandy for a few months. There was a feeling that the war was over. Yesterday a British reconnaissance aircraft flew past the coast and quickly disappeared again. That didn't mean anything good. This morning was the day. The Allies began "Operation Storm".
At sunrise, B-17 bombers began bombing the coastal areas near Dieppe, Le-Treport and Cayeux. Warships fired on our coastal defenses. Our air force and our anti-aircraft guns were able to shoot down many bombers and fighter planes. We lost a few planes in the process. Around midday the weather deteriorated and the bombing raids ended. Our coastal defenses at Dieppe and Cayeux were destroyed and the Allies were able to land there with ground troops and tanks. The coastal defenses at Le Treport were not yet destroyed and were able to prevent the Allies from coming ashore. Our air force bombed the ships and was able to sink some of them.
In the afternoon, the Allies captured our airfields in Abbeville and Saint Aubin. If the Allies don't manage to take Le Treport, it will make "Operation Storm" very difficult.

Our tanks in Lille have received their marching orders.
As expected, I received my deployment order, too. Transfer to Poix with two comrades. Start time 16:50. Code name "Bussard".
