Welcome to Corsair School, a full training course designed to get you mission-ready in the F4U-1D Corsair.
Corsair School is a full training campaign for the DCS F4U-1D Corsair, set in the WWII Pacific theater. Across 20 missions, you'll progress from cold starts and takeoffs to advanced gunnery, bombing, carrier ops, and division leadership. Learn to fly and fight using historically grounded procedures adapted for DCS—covering rockets, dive and level bombing, navigation, and dogfighting. Master formation tactics, wingman commands, and carrier qualification aboard USS Intrepid. By the end, you won’t just fly the Corsair—you’ll fly it like a fleet pilot.

There is an intelligence and personnel transport taking place near the southern Chile town of Ushuaia - you will be taking off from that airport under the cover of a WWII tribute flight.

Intelligence has traced several key components, including manpower (HVT individuals), to this transfer.

These assets must be retrieved alive to prevent the Pegasus project from being lost – or worse, acquired by the enemy.

There are multiple planes available in this mission - the F4U Corsair, the P47D, the P51 Mustang, the Mosquito, and the F4E Phantom. Planes have a hot runway start or a cold start option, and there are ground assets available for anyone who wants to play as a Combined Arms participant.

5 June 2020, 10:00 local time

This is a multipurpose mission. Anderson AFB is primary base of operations. Rota Intl is available as alternate. CVN-73 George Washington Supercarrier is available. LHA-1 Tarawa is available. Dynamic Spawns are also available. .

You can spawn and de-spawn random air targets from the F10 menu. Enemy ground targets available at Tinian Intl and Saipan Intl. JTAC available for tasking. Enemy Task force also available.

JTAC Eyeball ready to mark unarmed targets at Tinian Intl.
JTAC Mantis ready to mark AAA and EWR at Saipan Intl. AWACS available. Refueling tankers available.

*** DESIGNER NOTES - IMPORTANT ***

A few points to be made for this mission:

1) EASY COMMS is DISABLED. This mission uses an advanced comms system that will require you to use the radios and tune to correct frequencies and WILL NOT work with easy comms ON.
