Mjølner is the hammer of Thor, the Norse god associated with thunder.
Mjølner is depicted in Norse mythology as one of the most fearsome and powerful weapons in existence,
and is also depicted on the squadron badge of RDAF 727 Squadron at Fighter Wing Skrydstrup and the text: It flies, it hits, it returns.

F-16AM Fighting Falcon E-195 PHANTOM livery.

This Danish F-16AM Fighting Falcon E-195 from 726 Squadron (ESK726) flew from Aalborg Air Base.
726SQN acted as the reconnaissance squadron after the RF-35 Drakens were fazed out.
726SQN was disbanded in 2005 and E-195 flew for the last time on December 14th 2011 and the airframe was scrapped in 2016.
The callsign for 726SQN was PHANTOM and this particular livery was made in 2005 as a farewell marking, whet the squadron left for Skrydstrup Air Base.
This aircraft is flown by the virtual pilot Major Thomas ‘MET’ Kristensen and features a red helmet displaying the PHANTOM logo.

On September 11, 1972 VMFA-333, the Fighting Shamrocks aboard USS America launched a MigCAP which was to patrol over the Haiphong area.   A/C 201 and A/C 206 engaged Mig-21’s and shot down one confirmed and claimed one probable.  While egressing the area short of fuel, both Phantoms were damaged by AAA and SAM fire.   They were able to reach the coast before the crews ejected and were recovered by SAR.

This was the only confirmed All-Marine MiG kill during the Vietnam War.
