This is an updated livery (2.0) of the John McCain A-4E Skyhawk (149959) he was flying when he was shot down over Vietnam in 1967. New livery icludes better details and weathering. The livery itself is from the U.S. Navy attack squadron VA-163 Saints. Only difference from the original is the "LCDR JOHN McCAIN" name tag added under the cockpit to denote his final rank in the Navy. RIP John and fly on.
Welcome to the USAF Weapons School.
This is a dynamic BFM training mission for all modern fighter aircraft in DCS world.
Mission is fully voiced and scripted. It provides a unique experience that will be consistent, regardless of what aircraft you choose to fly.
You will need to be familiar with your aircrafts Avionics in order to successfully navigate this Mission.
This is an enhanced checklist for the A-4E Skyhawk. It includes optimized startup, takeoff, cruise, fence in/out, refueling, approach, and landing checklists.
Skin it's based on photos of AV-8B+ (serial number165568) used in VMA-211 "Wake Island Avengers" made for @nerdkid_23 ;) In practice it is a cosmetic modification of the already existing in DCS skin but I wouldn't say it was easy.
You must know it isn't 1-to-1 copy - you will get a variable tactical numbers (this is why the ones on the nose are moved to the front of the original), also serial numbers are variable... oh and there is no under cockpit pilot name tape. But rest is pure gold ;)
I hope you will like it and have fun while use it now... and when we will get the Marianas Islands Map ;)<
Changes from v. 1.0:
- added new helmet decal
- fixed few small issues with textures on nose and tail
- better tires
Instalation:
Unzip pack and put folders in to AV8BNA file. You will find it here: (...)\DCSWorld\CoreMods\aircraft\AV8BNA\Liveries\AV8BNA
NOTE: Incorporated into A-4E-C v2.0.0+ release. Only download for versions propr to this
This is the special livery for the 15th Aniversary of Brazilian Navy Squadron VF-1 operating from the carrier São Paulo (formerly French carrier Foch).
When presented at the ceremony for the 15th Aniversary (as freshly painted), the elevators were the pale grey the rest of the control surfaces were painted in. This skin depicts that variation. Later they were painted black and most photos on the internet have that variation.
This version is for 1.3x and 1.4x of the Community A-4E-C Mod available here:
https://github.com/heclak/community-a4e-c/releases/tag/v1.4
Will fix the alignment of the Navy and serial number text on the fuselage when v1.5 of the Skyhawk is released and it is bundled with it.
A-4E: Singapore Air Defence Command (SADC), now Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) A-4S for DCS World's A-4E Community Module.
This skin is a replica of the A-4S Skyhawk 607/145013 at the RSAF Museum, Paya Lebar AFB, Singapore. This example is painted in Light Gull Grey over White, the scheme carried by the SADC Skyhawk detachment in the US in the 1970s.
Note: this is an EXE installer that creates shared texture folders and adds paths to your autoexec.cfg.
A-4E: US Marine Corps Attack Squadron 223 (VMA-223) "Bulldogs" for DCS World with the A-4E Community Mod installed
This skin has VMA-223 markings circa 1976.
