Recce Viggen 13th fighter wing

The recce Viggen came in 2 variants; SH37 for maritime patrol using radar, and SF37 for photo recon at all altitudes, day or night.
These skins represent an SH and an SF from the 13th fighter wing in Norrköping, during the '80s and early '90s. They flew with the callsign 'Martin' (M being the 13th letter of the alphabet) and their respective tail numbers.

Armament-wise, they both could carry countermeasure pods and sidewinders on the 4 innermost pylons for self defense. The SH37 had a secondary role as a maritime strike aircraft and could carry 2 RB04's. In the 1990's these were upgraded to AJSH and AJSF, respectively, and became functionally the same (with some differences remaining) as the AJS37 we have in-game, though the AJSF never recieved any air to ground capability due to not having a radar.

This paint scheme is based off the JAS 39 Gripen prototypes. The biggest difference is that I replaced the Gripen logo with the one painted on the first Viggen prototype.

These four skins depict the first iteration of the Viggen's characteristic woodland splinter camouflage. This paint scheme was introduced in early 1974 on the AJ 37 and was quickly changed to the one we all know now. Differences include a yellow tail number, the air wing number being placed on the air intake, and white leading edges on the intakes, wings, canards, and vertical stabiliser. The RWR antennae have also been changed to resemble the old ones found used in the Viggen's early years.

F15 Hälsinge flygflottilj skin pack

4 skins belonging to the 15th flying wing, Swedish air force, based in Söderhamn. Tail numbers 09, 26, 31, and 47. All four aircraft recieved the AJS mod and flew with the wing in the 1990's. Number 31 is currently flying in a bare metal livery with tail number 52. Number 26's cockpit was turned into a simulator. Number 09 sits outside at the Söderhamn aviation museum. Number 47 was scrapped.

4 skins depicting AJ37s from F6 wing in Karlsborg. Tail numbers 01, 35, 44, 60. Number 01 has the squadron emblem of RAF No 41 squadron painted on the tail, which was applied when that squadron visited F6.

SK37E Viggen "Urban 73" skin for AJS37

I 1998, a handful of SK37s (the two seat trainer variant of the Viggen) were converted into electronic warfare aircraft and redesignated SK37E. One of them, serial number 37811, was also painted grey (all the others kept their woodland splinter camouflage). The red lightning bolt was added when the EW-Viggen (as it was often called internationally) first participated in the annual international EW exercise ELITE in 2003. At ELITE 03, the EW-Viggen gained a fearsom reputation, earning the nickname "the terrorists".

This skin is based upon 37811 when it was based at F21 wing in Luleå, with the callsign "Urban 73".
