Operation "Phoenix Strike": Attack on Syrian Airbase Sayqal

Briefing

Date: 28-06-2017

[Overview]

In a decisive response to the escalating regional tensions and the increasing threat posed by the presence of nuclear bunkers on the Syrian Airbase Sayqal, the Jordanian government has authorized Operation "Phoenix Strike." This operation aims to neutralize the nuclear threat by executing a surprise attack on the two identified bunkers. The Sayqal Airbase, our target for Operation "Phoenix Strike," possesses a robust defense system. It is fortified with a formidable SA-2 Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) site, which poses a significant challenge to our mission. Additionally, the airbase maintains a Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) status, ensuring a constant state of readiness to respond to any potential threats. We must also anticipate the possibility of encountering QRA aircraft from the neighboring Shayrat and Tiyas Airbases, located to the north of Sayqal.Your mission is of utmost importance, and success will have a significant impact on regional security.

[Mission Objectives]

Nuclear Bunker Destruction: Execute precise strikes on the two designated nuclear bunkers located at the Sayqal Airbase.

[Operational Details]

You will comprise a flight group consisting of two Jordanian fighter jets.
-Pop-Up Attack: Execute a surprise pop-up attack on the Syrian Airbase Sayqal, utilizing MK-84 bombs to destroy the nuclear bunkers.
-AWACS Support: NATO AWACS aircraft will provide vital surveillance and early warning support throughout the operation.
-No Tanker Support: There will be no aerial refueling available during the mission, emphasizing the need for efficient use of fuel and optimal flight planning.

[Mission Justification]

-The Jordanian government has made the difficult decision to carry out this attack due to the following factors:
-Regional Stability: The presence of nuclear bunkers on Syrian soil poses an immediate threat to regional stability, necessitating preemptive action to neutralize the risk.
-Intelligence Reports: Credible intelligence sources have confirmed the existence of nuclear materials within the identified bunkers, emphasizing the urgency of eliminating this threat.
-Political Considerations: The Jordanian government believes that a successful mission will significantly enhance national security and the safety of neighboring countries.

[Threats]

Enemy Aircraft:

-Mig-29
-Mig-21
-Su-24M

Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) Systems:

-SA-2
-SA-3
-SA-11

Short-Range Air Defense (SHORAD) Systems:

MANPADS (Man-Portable Air-Defense Systems):

Various MANPADS systems in the enemy's possession.

[Execution]

Flight Group Formation: You will form a flight group of two Jordanian fighter jets, preparing for the pop-up attack on the Sayqal Airbase.
Pop-Up Attack Strategy: Utilize the element of surprise by conducting a low-altitude ingress, followed by a rapid ascent to the optimal release altitude for the MK-84 bombs.
Target Prioritization: Your primary mission objective is the destruction of the identified nuclear bunkers. Secondary objectives include neutralizing enemy aircraft and air defense systems to ensure the success of the attack.
Threat Engagement: Engage and neutralize enemy threats, including aircraft, SAMs, SHORADs, AAA, and MANPADS, as required to maintain mission effectiveness and pilot safety.

[Safety]

Flight Planning: Optimize flight paths and fuel consumption to compensate for the absence of aerial refueling support.
Evasion and Countermeasures: Utilize evasive maneuvers and countermeasures to mitigate threats from enemy air defenses.
