Included are two skins:
Bf-109G-6/R3 8./III./JG300 July 1944 Jüterbog-Waldlanger Germany (without tail camouflage)
Bf-109G-6/R3 8./III./JG300 July 1944 Jüterbog-Waldlanger Germany (with tail camouflage)

The Red 8 was a Bf 109G-6/R3 flown by Oblt. Kurt Gabler, 8./III./JG300, in July 1944.
Extensive areas of the airframe have been sanded back either to the natural metal or the primer. This saved on weight, reduced aerodynamic drag and made the aircraft more effective in the pursuit of RAF Mosquitos.

A handful of machines like this with a sanded-down finish were deployed by JG300 mainly in an effort to try and catch RAF Mosquitoes, a type that the Jagdwaffe found almost impossible to shoot down. Gabler got one in June 1944.

Kurt Gabler was a wilde Sau ace and achieved 17 victories in only 23 combat sortie. Gabler was wounded in action during the Arnhem operation, late September 1944 as Staffelkapitän of 11./JG300 and flew no further combat sorties for the rest of the war.

Keep in mind that nobody can really tell how this aircraft looked like, so this is an artistic interpretation of what it might have looked like.
Right around that time of July 1944 the tail camouflage was added, so I have made both variants.
