Being an SWO turned naval aviator I always wanted to do some proper Navy missions, but with no Navy helicopter module in DCS in the foreseeable future one has to get creative. Luckily the H-60 came along and while it does not really represent any of the naval variants, it is close enough to create believable Navy taskings around it with some trigger magic. So a few month, input from GNY, RN and USN pilots and 160 voice lines later, here we are.
Introducing the BLACK SEA VIPERS - MH-60R 5 mission mini campaign.
You will be part of HSM-48 "Vipers" onboard the DDG-103 "USS Truxtun". On this cruise you will be facing a variety of challenging naval aviation tasks:

-ASuW
-Transport
-SAR
-Recon
-PhotoOps
-Formation flights
-Boarding Operations
-Low Level IFR
Known issues:
1. Some players spawn in with the helicopter already airborne. Switching the ship type to OHP fixes this. Cause unknown.
2. In the second briefing port and starboard are switched. Red is of course port.
Welcome to Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 48 - The Vipers.
We are an expeditionary detachment of 2 aircraft and 6 pilots, well now that you joined us 7 pilots, on DDG-103 aka USS Truxtun.
In 2014 after Russia invaded Crimea D103 (USS Truxtun) was sent to the black sea as strategic reassurance. Show our allies we are there and train with them.
Eight years later and we are very much in a similar situation, just worse. And so we are here again together with the Truxtuns sister ship DDG-116 USS Thomas Hudner.
Well we have been here for a month. Did some exercises with the Bulgarians, had close calls with angry Russians and are just coming off a three day port stay in the beautiful Georgian town of Batumi.
