Operations against guerilla groups in the region continue
Security forces are have control of urban areas and most rural areas on the plains.
They periodically mount patrols into the mountain valleys. However, they do not have the resources to maintain a constant presence.
The guerillas have good command of the ground and, apparently, good intelligence so that when ground forces enter the valleys they either find well planned ambushes or nothing at all.
Special forces have been inserted into the valley in area of Grid Squares MN61 and MN71 looking for a guerilla base. They believe they have identified the base and want air support to take it out.
They are intending to hit the base early in the morning before the guerillas are fully active. You will be given final targeting instruction by the special forces air-controller when you reach your initial point.
