THIS IS A VERSION OF THIS MISSION THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE THE WWII ASSET PACK!!!!!!!!

All new missions will be created without this asset pack - I listen to your comments, Spc10 and BlkMamba - thanks folks!

Pilotable SU25's and Ka50's have been added, add your own armament before takeoff!!!!!

This is a detailed mission that involves convoy attacks, air to air, SEAD and base destruction - it can be played as a single player mission, especially with the new 'Save Mission' feature, but it is populated by the AH64D (x2), a A10Cii Warthog, and an F4E Phantom - it also includes ground forces which can be controlled through the DCS Combined Arms as JTAC or driveable forces. WWII Asset Pach Required, I will be working on a version that does not need it.

Operation Iron Reaper

At 05:45Z, Soviet armored columns breached the Inner German Border near the Werra River, pushing toward the critical crossroads at Hünfeld. Your mission as Iron Fist Flight (2x AH-64D) is to intercept and destroy enemy armor, neutralize mobile SAM threats, and support friendly forces defending the town.

An OH-58 scout (optional) can assist by marking targets and providing reconnaissance.

Location: Fulda Gap, West Germany

Date: October 14, 1987

Time: 06:30 Zulu

Weather: Overcast with morning fog

FARP (HAWK) available for rearm and refuel

Use the F10 Communication Menu for a little extra surprise (and maybe an airshow... if you survive)!

This game also has the F4E contained in it - feel free to add additional aircraft and spawn points for multi-player action! You will find two groups of anti air defenses, one on the northern shore of Germany, and a small convoy out to sea which has several Corvette class warships guarding the two freighters.

The land based base, which is taking shape around a helipad has an advanced SA10 system already set up

The Fulda Gap was a strategically significant lowland corridor in West Germany, considered a likely route for a Soviet-led Warsaw Pact invasion during the Cold War. This Massive armored force is attempting to over and Take Frankfurt city and surrounding area.  
Location:
The Fulda Gap was located in the region of Hesse-Thuringia in West Germany, between the Inner German border and Frankfurt am Main.
Terrain:
The gap comprised two corridors of lowlands, allowing for the movement of tanks and other mechanized forces, making it easier for an invading force to reach the Rhine River.
