MiG-29 “Fulcrum”
1984. In the territory of the GDR, joint exercises “Friendship-84” are being conducted with the participation of the Soviet Air Force and Long-Range Aviation units.
The aim of the drills is to practice coordination between fighter aviation and strategic bombers during flights near the NATO border.
The takeoff airfield is “Garz.”
From here, an alert pair of MiG-29s (call signs 234 and 235) will carry out missions to cover and escort Long-Range Aviation aircraft.
According to the exercise scenario, the strategic missile carrier Tu-95 (call sign 550) must carry out simulated strikes on a training range, perform in-flight refueling from an Il-78 tanker (call sign 442), and return to base.
At the same time, secret tests of Soviet electronic warfare stations are being conducted in the exercise area, creating interference with navigation and communications.
Command warns of possible unidentified contacts appearing in the zone of responsibility.
Your tasks:
Take off from Harz Airfield.
Meet the Tu-95 at the designated time.
Escort it to the training range.
Provide cover during refueling.
If necessary, intercept and identify any unknown aircraft.
During the mission, weather conditions will deteriorate. On return, a dense fog is expected, requiring an instrument approach for landing.
