The 123rd Fighter Squadron, part of the Oregon Air National Guard’s 142nd Fighter Wing at Portland ANGB, traces its heritage to the 123rd Observation Squadron activated in April 1941. Evolving through combat and Cold War air defense, the Redhawks now fly the advanced F-15EX Eagle II, protecting the Pacific Northwest and projecting airpower worldwide with unmatched precision and readiness.
The 114th Fighter Squadron, assigned to the Oregon Air National Guard’s 173rd Fighter Wing at Kingsley Field ANGB, descends from the WWII-era 439th Bombardment Squadron. Operating the F-15EX Eagle II, the “Eager Beavers” serve as a premier adversary air training unit, providing realistic, high-end threat replication to prepare U.S. and allied pilots for modern aerial combat.
