Support a Task Force in defending Lauterbach from a soviet attack in regimental scale.
This is a mission meant to be played with your friends. Its of course possible to fly it alone, but you wont make a big dent in the enemy attack force.
It can be played with the A-10A or the A-10C. If you want other planes, simply change them in the mission editor. Start in the air or in the ground.
Update: The soviets will retreat if faced with significant casualties.
Remarks:
On the map is the 17th Guards Tank Regiment, parts of the 172nd Guards Artillery Regiment, parts of the 1075th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment and parts of the Air-Defense of the other combat regiments. All of them make the 79th Guards Tank Division.
Some Air Defenses of neighbouring Divisions are also on the map, to discourage flying over enemy territory.
No infantry is modelled, since DCS limitations. the fighting is scripted with the TIC script witch decreases lethality on the battlefield for ground to ground combat.
Situation:
We had to pull back to phase line Chicago. There we could stabilize our lines.
Being unable to pursuit, the 79th Guards Tank Division attempts a breakthrough at Lauterbach.
45th Guards Tank Regiment is fixing our forces at Neuhof, 211th and 247th regiments stand ready to exploit the possible breakthrough.
Task Force Chaos is defending the area. When war broke out the task force defended at Fulda and suffered significant losses, so its size is roughly that of a batallion.
Tasking:
Task Force Chaos reports artillery fire on their positions at Defense Line Alpha.
Start your planes, and wait at the initial point until the Task Force reports the start of the soviet attack. You will help stopping the soviet onslaught.
Threats:
The attacking tank regiment employs 4x SA-13 and 4x Shilka. 79th Guards Tank Division has 3 Batteries of SA-6 in the region of Fulda.
Our own fighters will provide cover, no enemy interceptors will reach you. It might be possible that enemy CAS planes are in the area, they should not be a threat to you.
