Another mission of me trying to tribute my favourite game of all times: Ace Combat 5.
Osea attempts to launch a laser module to be outfitted onto the Arkbird, a maneuverable orbiting spacecraft, in response to Yuktobania's use of the Scinfaxi. Yuktobania sends in airborne tanks, and eventually cruise missiles, to capture and destroy the base respectively. Wardog Squadron, in the area on their trip back to Sand Island, fend off the attack and the laser module is launched successfully.

BRIEFING:
Briefing Officer: An SSTO craft launch facility lies to the north of our current location, McNealy Air Force Base. The facility was a collaborative project between Osea and Yuktobania. It was built to be a bridge to outer space, with a mass driver.
Our radar has detected several planes from a Yuktobanian squadron approaching the facility from several directions. The facility is currently conducting pre-launch operations for an SSTO craft. The base commander will provide you with further orders.
McNealy Commander: This is the Commander of McNealy Air Force Base. All units, including those refuelling at this base, are now under my command. Engage the incoming enemy. All untrained pilots are barred from taking off. Those guys are still kids!
After take off, follow a 030º direction to find the SSTO launch instalations.
Defend the SSTO from any attack.
Reports confirmed long range Yuktobanian bombers in 270º direction from the launch facilities. Pay attention to the radio in case you are needed to engage in that direction.

EWR comms: this mission uses Early Warning Radar Script for DCS World. Use the comms menu/F10 to make a request for the EWR and it will ask you in metric units as the MiG-21bis uses metric, too.
