In the 90's, Brazil started a requirement to upgrade it's aging fleet of MB-226 Xavante's, and a natural sucessor was the Aermacchi MB-339, while waiting for the A-29 program.
Brazil decided to buy it and renamed as AT-39 "Xavante II", and it served as the main trainer/ light attack jet until 2013.
Nos anos 90's, o Brasil inicia um requerimento para trocar os MB-226 Xavantes da Força Aérea, e um sucessor natural era o MB-339 da Aermacchi, enquanto esperavam o programa A-29 ser finalizado. O Brasil decidiu compra-lo e batizou como AT-39 "Xavante II", servindo como principal treinador/ caça de ataque leve até 2013.
