"DCS World Dedicated Server" modular installer installs a special DCS World version which is intended to work as a dedicated server and doesn't contain textures and sounds. Installed server takes at least approx. 20 GB on HDD up to 170 GB depending on the installed terrain modules, and works as a full-functional server controlled only by WEB (i.e. without any GUI features). This version allows the installation of any set of the available terrain and WWII units module, works without 3D graphics and sounds.

Neither the Maps nor the WW2 Unit Pack require activation when used in server mode without 3D rendering: the server owner does not need to purchase a license for these modules on the server.

NOTE: these "free" maps can work ONLY on a dedicated server without rendering. You cannot use them on a "client" DCS.

Facility

Run the installer, choose a separate folder and install as usual. Note: If you have a previous version of the server based on the DCS World client, uninstall it first. This installer will install the DCS World "base" as well as all WWII map modules and unit packs.

The "Saved Games" folder used by the dedicated server to write/save its settings is: Saved Games\DCS.server

You don't need to add command line keys/parameters (--server and/or --norender) in the launch shortcut, the server will start with these options by default.

Update: The server checks that it has the most recent version of DCS at launch, once a day (like DCS World).
