This week we are pleased to share some new features for DCS: F/A-18C Hornet coming in next Open Beta. We are finalising work on the data link information that displays friendly, unknown and hostile air contacts to the Helmet Mounted Display. Once completed, we will also add the Air-to-Ground mode.

We would like to share the current development progress of DCS: Mariana Islands. The civilian building assets have been finalised and we are currently working on finalising airfields and military installations, including storage bunkers, radars and hangars.

F/A-18C Hornet

New Features

The new GRID function will allow you to edit and create waypoints using coordinates, this is particularly useful when working with a JTAC. The new Azimuth / Elevation (AZ/EL) air-to-air radar page will display contacts and their relative elevation. Later, we will add the automatic-IFF and FLIR elements to this page.

We are also working on the ground effect for the Hornet and have corrected lofting for the HARM. A bug when using IR-maverick for the first time has also been resolved as well as many more improvements.

Guam

Development Progress

Real geographic data is used to create the initial topography layer and road networks. The placement of civilian housing assets and vegetation is now also complete. We encourage you to check out the In Development Screenshots.

Antonio B. Won Pat airport in Guam is now in its final stages. We are also working on the Andersen Air Force base. We look forward to sharing more information in the new year.

A-10C II

Tank Killer Upgrade

After recent improvements to the exterior sound effects, the cockpit has also been tuned. The updates will become available as part of our next Open Beta Update on the 4th of November.
