Welcome to the Su33_HDD_Refl_Mod!

I provided 2 versions of a new su33_cpt_int07.dds for some of the most popular optional Su-33 cockpits. I've also included the layered psd versions of these files so those who like can play with changing the opacity of the HDD background and grid to your own taste (or remove the grid layer altogether).

Speaking of the "grid"...what is it? Back in the pre DCS days (maybe the pre-Flaming Cliffs days as well) the Su-33 HDD had a grid which made it easy to gauge just how far away radar hits/waypoints/airfields were based on the HDD range setting. I really missed it so added it back in to this mod :-)

Anyway, I've also provided another layered file to integrate into my "Su-33 English Layered Paintable Cockpit Files" mod. Finally there's also a layered psd file with just the HDD background and grid so those doing their own painting can easily integrate my HDD painting into their own work.

Here are the directories in the mod and what they contain.

English Blue Opaque : This black opaque HDD is designed to work with the very popular English Blue Su-33 cockpit by Devrim.

English Blue Semi-Opaque : This semi-transparent HDD is designed to work with the very popular English Blue Su-33 cockpit by Devrim.

English Gray Opaque : This black opaque HDD is designed to work with the very popular English Gray Su-33 cockpit by Devrim.

English Gray Semi-Opaque : This semi-transparent HDD is designed to work with the very popular English Gray Su-33 cockpit by Devrim.

Custom : This is a layered su33_cpt_int07.psd containing one layer for the black HDD background and another for the grid. This is for those who paint their own Su-33 cockpits and want to easily integrate my mod into their own work.

WytchCrypt Layered Mod : This is a layered su33_cpt_int07.psd that you can integrate into my "Su-33 English Layered Paintable Cockpit Files" mod. Just replace the one in the mod with this new one and you're ready to go.

Note: For those doing advanced work, the "English Blue..." and "English Gray..." versions do not contain any text or labels so can be used for any blue or gray cockpits, not just the English translation cockpits by Devrim.

Installation:

Note: if you're ONLY flying the default Su-33 cockpit, installing this so it's recognized by the default cockpit is above the scope of this mod. I'd highly suggest you download and install one of the several Su-33 excellent custom cockpit mods. Follow their installation instructions which will require creating a new directory at your local ../Saved Games/DCS/Liveries/Cockpit_Su-33/ After that's done, just follow these instructions to easily try out these new HDD options.

1) Copy whatever version of su33_cpt_int07.dds I provided to whichever of your local Su33 cockpits you like (for example: copy my English Blue Transparent/su33_cpt_int07.dds to ../Saved Games/DCS/Liveries/Cockpit_Su-33/English Blue).

2) Add the following line to whatever local Su-33 cockpit description.lua you want to fly (it might already be there, if so no change is necessary. It might be commented out with the line beginning with "--", if so remove the leading "--". If the line is nowhere to be found, just add this:

{"su33_cpt_int07", 0, "su33_cpt_int07", false};

3) Fly DCS and tryout whichever cockpit you've added the new HDD reflection su33_cpt_int07.dds to!

4) Personally, I create multiple cockpits in my local ../Saved Games/DCS/Liveries/Cockpit_Su-33/ directory so I can easily switch between and try them all out in the same DCS session.

Usage:

I'm fine with people integrating my HDD files into their Su-33 cockpit mods but ask that you provide attribution of my work :-)
