F-4E-45MC livery based on F-4E AF#67-0210 (Callsign: BRENDA 01) which was a F-4E Phantom II that scored the first (and thus far only) air to air gun kill at supersonic speeds in history.
On June 2nd, 1972 67-0210 was flown by pilot Maj. Phill "Hands" Handley, and WSO Lt. John "Karst" Smallwood. Handley and Smallwood, along with the rest of BRENDA flight, were conducting a combat air patrol north of Hanoi, when they were intercepted by two VPAF MIG-19s. After unsuccessfully attempting to launch several AIM-7s and AIM-4s, Handley fired his M61A1 into one of the MIG, while flying a mach 1.2, destroying the MIG. Smallwood recorded the kill on an audio cassette.
