Thunderbolts Over The Pacific v1.0

Your flight leader has a sixth sense about where in the Marianas enemy U-Boats have surfaced. If you follow his lead and stay close, he will lead you to Das Boot.  

When you find a U-boat, they will only stay surfaced long enough to haul in their dirty laundry before diving away. Eventually even the slowest U-boat crew will rig the ship to dive.  If the U-boat dives away before you can sink it, the flight leader is really good at finding another one.

The mission includes all the current WWII era aircraft.  You can also fly this mission in any aircraft if add them in the mission file. The WWII asset pack is strongly recommended, but not required ( see customizing below ).

How to Play:

To start a U-boat mission enter the radio button "/" for the Menu commands. Then navigate to the "F10 Other.." menu and pick "Start Mission".  

Once you start the mission, your group will need to follow the AI leader to the U-boats.  The entire group needs to keep close to the leader to find the U-boats.

The leader will wait if your group can't keep up.

The U-boats are always in random locations and only the flight leader can find them.

The leader gives you directions at the group level.  Menu choices are also made at the group level.  This means any group member can start or stop any mission, change preferences, etc.

You can play this mission as multi-user or single player.

You can have multiple multi-user groups flying separate missions.

Use the F10 Other menu to control starting missions, ending missions, show options, change preferences.

Customizing:

At the mission editor you can change, add, delete any aircraft type you want. You are not required to only fly the aircraft in the mission. You can even fly in the free TF-51D.

You can change the difficulty and other settings in the running mission in F10 Other > Preferences Menu.

Save the difficulty setting in the mission editor: Trigger > Preferences > doScript > gDifficulty ( 1- 5 ). Five being the hardest.

Change the average flight length in the mission editor: Trigger > Preferences > doScript > gFlightDistance ( short , medium, far ).

If you don't have the WWII asset pack, change in the mission editor Trigger > Preferences > doScript > gWWIIAssets = false ( No AAA now ).

Keep In Mind:

Submarines take a long time to explode and finally sink when dead. Don't waste ordinance on ones already dead.

If you add post Korean War era aircraft, the submarines era will match the era of the aircraft you fly. ( No AAA ).

AI spawn into the closest parking spaces to the active end of runways. Keep any human parking spawning far away to avoid pileups.

I have tested this mission extensively as single user not nearly enough as multi-user.
