Multipack representing Apache's WAH.1 - WAH.12 respectively. These were the first 12 Apache helicopters to be delivered to the British Army in the late 90's. The first eight (WAH.1-WAH.8) were manufactured by Boeing in the USA, while the remaining 59 of the UK's Apache fleet were assembled under special license by Westland Helicopters/AgustaWestland at Yeovil in the UK. Designated 'Apache AH .1' by the Ministry of Defence, the AgustaWestland AH .1 Apache differs from the AH-64D in having 2 x Rolls-Royce Turbomeca RTM322 engines, a new electronic defensive aids suite, and a folding blade mechanism which allows it to be stored aboard ship.
ZJ166-ZJ177 were assigned to 3 and 4 Regiments Army Air Corps, based at Wattisham, England.
