Single player anti-ship mission for the F-16C Falcon in Syria. DCS 2.7
OPERATION FIRE WATER
Syrian naval vessels are intercepting and boarding neutral shipping bound to and from Israel. They've seized some cargos and are harrassing the merchant crews. Attempts by the Israeli Navy to intervene have failed, largely because the Syrians withdraw before our boats arrive.
Yesterday the situation escalated when an Israeli crew was detained and a merchant sailor shot and killed. The vessel was released but Command has determined that the latest incident must be answered and further incidents detered.
Early this morning a merchant vessel crewed by navy personnel departed Hafia and delberately headed north to provoke a response. They Syrian Navy took the bait and deployed two missile boats to intercept. Intelligence sources confirm the boats are currently near Waypoint 3 on a direct course to Waypoint 2.
We will strike the missle boats at first light.
MISSION:
Pontiac flight will conduct an anti-ship strike against two Syrian Navy craft in order to destroy the vessels.
This strike is timed so that Pontiac flight will reach the target area at the start of morning nautical twilight (first light). This should enable you to visually identify the target vessels
before engaging. The missle boats are believed to be Tarantul Class vessels equipped with AK-630 CIWS rotary cannon and Strela heat-seaking surface to air missiles.
Fly the planned route to locate the boats between Waypoints 2 and 3. Avoid the coastline as Syrian air defenses are formidible. Also avoid the port of Tartus as Russian vessels are known to be docked there. Under no circumstances should Russian vessels be engaged.
The Syrian Armed Forces are likely to respond once the vessels are engaged. Take appropriate action to defend youself but avoid being drawn over Syrian or Lebanese territory.

- This mission requires approximately one hour to complete.
- A successful mission requires the player to sink two vessels and return safely to base. Getting a ride back to base in the rescue helo doesn't count.
- Your wingman is expendible. He's not really that smart anyway.
