The situation at the border with Lebanon is deteriorating despire our best efforts. The prosperity of our great Nation continues to create envy… The UN troops are still garding the border. We need to continue to be vigilant during our sorties close to the border to avoid any altercation or international incident.
Our sources inside the Lebanese army confirm the disappearance of two MLRS artillery systems and multiple mortars. It seems Hezbollah has stolen them with the help of some corrupt soldiers and they must be determined to use it quickly against Israel.
Given the range of these weapons, an attack on the city of Kyriat Shmona is likely. For this reason, Operation Lion’s Shield was initiated after being designed years ago for such a possibility. We have already launched multiple patrols, you will be the 8th sortie.
You will take off from Rosh Pina and fly north. You will orbit the city of Kyriat Shmona as cover, and answer any calls and tasking from Mission Control. If necessary, reconnaissance assets will be put at your disposal.
In the event that terrorists would decide to strike further south, in the area of Nahariyya by the sea, a FARP is already setup and ready to supply any logistic support necessary.
NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR: I welcome your feedback and ideas. This mission is not a milsim mission, do not expect 100% perfect communication and procedures. The objective is to provide a realistic scenario for the helicopters we have today in DCS and allow you to have a good time with your mates flying them together. I hope you enjoy it.
