A pair of Ukrainian freighters - the Khom'yak and Tokar - are currently navigating the narrowest part of the straits, 12 miles south of Qeshm island and heading east.
They've just sent an SOS reporting 4 speedboats heading toward them from Iran, in the vicinity of Dayrestan on Qeshm Island.
We need to send a message to the Iranian speedboats that they are to back off.
Your job is to intercept the speedboats and persuade them to leave the freighters alone with a high speed, low altitude flypast.
Hopefully that will persuade the Iranians to back off. What could possibly go wrong?
Tarawa AV8B force: You're the only aircraft in the area, but should be sufficient for the job.
Do not fire unless fired upon - we don't want to stir up a hornet's nest. However, if they do fire - you're cleared to engage if you feel in danger.
Be aware that SA15 air defences on Qeshm and SA2s over to the west near Minab may act aggressively, so don't get too close. As long as you don't go more than a few miles north of the freighter, you should remain out of range of both batteries.
Seahawks from our escorts will set off in case the freighter crews need to be evacuated, but we hope it won't come to that.
Intelligence sources on Larak island (10 miles east of Qeshm) are also reporting a group of Tarantul missile boats warming up their engines at the harbour. We don't yet know if they're going to put to sea.
A pair of Italian Tornadoes based at Kasab airbase are also being readied in case you need any help.
Finally, a pair of Harriers visiting the Tornado squadron for a pasta party will also get warmed up to support if needed.

Be careful out there - the speedboats are probably just posturing, but we have to be cautious.
This is the second mission I've put together. Soon after I got the AV8B, I downloaded a mission called Fire Brigade & really liked the way it was put together. This mission has headed in the same direction. Not to give too much away, but allow a good hour or more to play through the whole thing.
In case anyone has issues with realism re what weapons are employed, or aircraft are fielded, or anything else - I'm not too concerned - I just wanted to create a scenario that would be fun to fly and keep you on your toes - enjoy!
