With the large purchase of aircraft in 1997, the OADF had little need for the Su-24 ‘Fencer’ due to the F-111 ‘Aardvark’ already filling the super-sonic tactical bomber role, This opened multiple states to adopt the fighter instead into their reserve components, one of which being North Gate with the 260th Tactical Fighter Squadron ‘Pale Horse’.

Accepting the aircraft in 1998 to replace older F-4D Phantoms in the inventory, the Pale Horses would operate around the Eaglin Strait, while not directly assigned to the waterway’s security mission. During the Continental War that broke out in 2003, the 260th was one of many units deployed to Usea to ensure security of Osean interests in the region, and notably would first face combat on the Su-24’s homeland of Yuktobania in 2010 during the Circum-Pacific War.
