Just re-purchased the Mirage 2000 after a long absence and an old lost account and was disappointed to find the DDM warning sound a total miserable failure of a sound compared to the original. Download and install this to make yourself instantly freak out and panic any time anybody fires a missile!
Place in your root DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\M-2000C\Sounds\alarms
It might work if you put it in savegames\Mods\aircraft...etc but don't come here if that doesn't work
This requires overwriting the original ddm sound so create a copy of it or use some sort of mod manager. Of course, you already knew that, didn't you, smarty pants?
I recreated the chad ddm warning sound and figured that some other people might get some use out of it - maybe now you'll know someone's launched something rather than just thinking it's the AoA alarm again.
It's a square tri-tone repeating chirp between 3.5khz and 5.5khz with a .1 ms gap between each 1ms chirp, which is as close as I could get to the old d2m warning sound. It's likely not perfect, and it's on the loud side, for sure, but it sounds close enough that it gets the correct "shitshitshit flaresflaresflares" response any time it goes off rather than that disgusting beep noise that it makes now - I know it's probably more authentic, but, god, it sounds lame as hell.
