I always thought the NVG implementation, with regard to the instruments being blurred (as they are too close to be in focus with the goggles) was realistic but maybe too much. IRL you can look under and around your NVG to look at your instruments in cockpit.
We don't have that and while reducing their size works (see Tacca's mod but also lefuneste01's implementation of 3dMigoto), it is far from ideal, especially in VR.

In DCS don't have the opportunity to "look around" our head mounted NVG to glance at instruments and while reducing their size might work on a screen - see Tacca's mod (

The situation is aggravated when using stuff like OpenXR Toolkit's Fixed Foveated rendering which will effectively make the periphery of your FoV unusable for reading fine instruments (given you reduced your NVG to a keyhole to read them).
This mod will let you wear your NVGs and have perfect focus both on distant and near objects (like your in cockpit instruments), making for a necessary compromise with the limitation of the game.
I have tested it with the Apache, Huey and Mi-8 and it works as expected.
Also, I have tried logging into a server which requires pure clients and pure scripts, and I passed IC so it should pass IC.
