This is a ground attack mission for the Mosquito, Mustang, or Thunderbolt with a dynamic air-to-air component. Enemy aircraft will come at different times, locations, directions, and altitudes between 500 and 15000 feet. You may encounter bombers (Ju-88s) or fighters (Bf-109s or FW-190s). I wanted a mission that: (1) could be played in an hour or less; (2) included both air-to-ground and air-to-air; (3) included variable elements so no two missions were alike; and (4) was fun but not punishing.

Reliable sources in the French Resistance report that warehouses at Calais contain stockpiles of ready-to-assemble V-1 flying bombs. The V-1 is the new Nazi pilotless bomb first used two weeks ago. We don't know how many V-1s they have but these weapons must be destroyed before they can be assembled and launched.
Air defenses in the Calais area are robust but the Luftwaffe ability to sortie aircraft appears to be much reduced. Sporadic attacks on UK coastal sites also remain a threat but most friendly forces are currently allocated to offensive operations.
Your mission is to destroy V-1 components in one or more target warehouses in Calais. These distinctive large square buildings are marked on the attached map and visible in the attached recon photos from the RAF. We don't know which warehouse(s) contain the V-1s so watch for secondary explosions.
A Luftwaffe response is unlikely but possible. Stay alert for enemy aircraft while over the target.
Once the strike is complete your flight may be called upon to assist in the defense of the British coast. This task is not required for mission success but we need all the help we can get. So use your judgement based on the state of your fuel, ammo, and aircraft.
Return to base upon mission completion. You may divert to Manston if necessary.

This is a ground attack mission with variable air-to-air engagements. It is designed to be of moderate (not brutal) difficulty and offer variety in a relatively short time span. All variable elements occur during or after the ground attack.
The player may be 'bounced' by enemy aircraft while in the target area. The enemy could come from different directions so keep your head on a swivel.
The player may also be asked to intercept enemy aircraft attacking friendly sites on the British coast. Ground controllers will alert the player to the enemy's intended target. Enemy aircraft may come from different directions and at different altitudes. Stay alert and don't forget to check your six.
Enemy aircraft will only spawn once so the player flight may RTB after air-to-air combat. Note that destruction of enemy aircraft is not required for mission success.
