You have just been told about a chopper loss somewhere in the mountains along the DMZ zone and to get wheels up pronto. You're now airborne following the way-points of the chopper and will be briefed along the way. You'll find out what really happened and be updated with more specifics as you go. Last contact from the chopper included a mayday message indicating hydraulic failure. Nothing more since then. You need to locate them ASAP. Seems easy enough. But just after you find the chopper, you realize your airspace is not empty. You're being hunted.
Your day started off with a simple scouting mission. However, the enemy has decided today is the day to make a statement of dissatisfaction, and you have just become the center of their attention. Yes, it's a trap. The hunter has become the hunted. You have been targeted by several enemy aircraft for the sole purpose of a fist strike incident that will be recorded in history as "The day of the jackals." You have just been targeted by countless enemy aircraft ascending from the valleys to try and take you out. All you want to do is get out of there, but they keep coming with no respect to airspace. Every time you think it's safe to head home, here they come again. They're using the valleys for stealth and seemingly keep coming out of nowhere to block your egress. Your concern is that you're running out of ordnance. And if this keeps up, you'll be a memory soon.
This script can roll out a little different each time you fly it. Random Migs will spawn-in and it will keep you on your guard. Your wingman is green and he's just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Will you make it home? He probably won't. You'll spawn in while in-flight along your way-point path and you'll have some time to prepare your airship. When you don't expect it, the jackals pounce one after the other.
The challenge is not only defending, but not knowing how many there will be. So, you need to not waste one missile or you will not have enough ordnance to make it home. Also, excessive fuel loss will trash your sixty million dollar aircraft in the mountains. Your challenge is to use the mountain valleys to out maneuver and out last the jackals, or the pack will take you down.
