This F-15C tail 80-034 was first delivered brand new to the 94th FS at Langley back in the 80s and was my fathers first jet as a crew chief. It crashed while it was assigned to the Missouri ANG on Nov. 2, 2007 during ACM. The pilot survived ejection. The crash resulted in a in-flight break up due to structural failure in which all non-mission critical F-15s were grounded pending the investigation. On 10 January 2008, the accident review board released its report stating the 2 November crash was related to the longeron not meeting drawing specifications
