The Italian Acrobatic Squadron, "Frecce Tricolori", really never had supplied the P51.
I desired to do the same this skin of fantasy. It is basing on the current skin of the MB339 PAN and is dedicated to all friends who want to experiment with the flight training.

La Squadriglia Acrobatica Italiana, Frecce Tricolori, in realtà non ha mai avuto in dotazione il P51.

Ho voluto lo stesso fare questa skin di fantasia. Essa si basa sulla skin attuale dell'MB339 PAN ed è dedicata a tutti gli amici che vogliono cimentarsi con il volo in formazione.

DCS P51D.
Questa è la skin del North American P-51D, il famoso "Shangri-la" pilotato nel teatro d'operazioni europeo dall'asso americano di origini italiane Dominic Salvatore Gentile, conosciuto semplicemente come "Don Gentile". Volontario con la RAF già nel 1940, Don Gentile divenne presto famoso per la raffinatezza ed efficacia delle sue tecniche di duello aereo. Alla fine della guerra Don Gentile aveva raggiunto 28 vittorie sicure, 8 probabili e 8 aerei distrutti al suolo. Un punteggio da grande asso dell'USAAF, che gli fruttò la "Distinguished Flying Cross" dalle mani di Eisenhower e che lo portò su tutti i giornali americani.

Alcuni P-51 Mustang furono acquistati illegalmente da Israele nel 1948, trasportati di contrabbando nel paese come attrezzi agricoli furono usati nella Guerra d'Indipendenza (1948). Essi rapidamente si affermarono come il miglior caccia dell'aviazione israeliana. Ulteriori aerei sono stati acquistati dalla Svezia e sono stati sostituiti dai più moderni jet alla fine degli anni 1950. Il modello presentato è liberamente tratto dal P51D presente presso l'Israeli Air Force Museum.

Skin del celebre P-51D Mustang acquistato dall’AMI nel 1948 per equipaggiare il 4° Stormo e due anni dopo anche il 2°, 3° e 6° Stormo. L’esemplare di Vigna di Valle, MM-4323, reca in fusoliera le insegne personali del Generale di Squadra Aerea Ranieri Cupini, uno dei pluri-trasvolatori di Balbo. L’apparecchio fu radiato nel 1953.
