Equipped with the F-16C, the 195th Fighter Squadron ‘Warhawks’ is a unit of the Arizona Air National Guard’s 162d Fighter Wing, based in Tucson, Arizona.
With a history stretching back to the 410th Fighter Squadron in the European Theatre of WW2, the Squadron would first be reactivated post-war as the 195th Fighter Squadron of the California Air National Guard, based at Van Nuy’s Airport flying the P-51D Mustang. In 1983 the Unit would transfer to the Arizona Air NAtional Guard as the 195th Tactical Fighter Training Squadron, flying the A-7D Corsair II. in 1991 the Squadron began to receive the F-16, before helping train foreign pilots in the aircraft starting in 1992. Today the Squadron still operates F-16C’s from Tucson Intl Airport.
F-16C 87-0333 is a Block 32 Airframe that was assigned to the AZ ANG sometime between 2013 and 2022. In 2016 the Aircraft became notable for its ‘Warhawks’ tail. Currently the Aircraft is assigned to the US Navy’s VFC-13 at Fallon NAS, Nevada.
